  
Dill is a hardy annual, native to European region but also widely grown in India and Southeastern Asia. Dill plants produce feathery leaves and lots of seeds. Young leaves are chopped and used in fish soups, salads, cakes and many dishes in Vietnam and India. Seeds are widely used in cucumber pickling, adding flavor in cakes and pastries and also for medicinal application in many regons.
It is very easy to grow this herb, by directly planting seeds or transplanting seedling into open field. It is necessary to thin plants to 8-10 inches apart for having room for further growing. Plants can reach 2 feet high and start to produce fruits/seeds.
