  
Hoary basil is one of the most popular herbs used in Thailand, Lao, Indonesia, Vietnam and also many Arabic countries. Plants grow to 2 to 4 feet high and their young leaves and stems are harvested for using in various cusines. This tropic bush plant is vigorous and grow best in a full sunny area, at least 6 hours direct sunlight, under warm climates. Young leavesw should be picked before flowering, for promoting more new large leaves and branches. Plants are very hardy and may survive the winter in subtropic and tropic regions. White flowers appear from July to September. Leaves and tips have strong minty aroma flavor. An excellent herb for home garden and fresh market.
