This variety is a hybrid version of small Thai chili which is well known for the very pungent spice. The upright plant produces short fruits, 4-5 cm x 0.9 cm, with smooth walls. Plants bear green peppers in early stage, which become red when matured. Peppers in both green and red stages can be harvested for cooking uses. Small size peppers are often called "bird or rocket peppers". Extra hot peppers are very popular in Thai cooking. This variety performs very well in subtropical and tropical climates and are very popular for commercial production for fresh pepper and dried pepper markets.
